THE CALIFORNIA BOARD OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistant Licenses

Licenses to become an Occupational Therapist (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) are governed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy which is part of the Department of Consumer Affairs all of which are located in Sacramento, California.

Like other California licensing Boards, the Board of Occupational Therapy may deny, suspend or revoke an OT or OTA license if the licensee has been convicted of a crime and/or commits fraud or unprofessional conduct.

All licensees must submit to Live Scan fingerprinting to determine if any criminal background exists. If you are an Occupational Therapist or applying to become one, and have a criminal background, you should consult with an experienced California professional license defense attorney like Jonathan Turner.
