ATTORNEY PROFILE
Since 1998 I have been representing hundreds of professionals in licensing matters with the State of California.
In 1998 I moved to Sacramento, California and began practicing administrative/professional licensing law as Sacramento is home to most of California’s licensing agencies and boards. Initially as a Sacramento administrative law attorney I represented mostly teachers in credentialing matters before the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Soon I expanded my administrative law practice to include all types of licenses governed by California.
Since 1998 I have literally represented hundreds of individuals either trying to obtain their professional license for the first time or trying to avoid the discipline, such as the suspension or revocation, of their license. I have represented teachers, nurses (both registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses), psychotherapists, veterinarians and veterinarian assistants, contractors, daycares, real estate agents and brokers, insurance salespersons and agents, medical doctors, attorneys, certified public accountants, court reporters, all types of health care professionals, psychologists, and many other types of professionals in California.
During my years as a Sacramento administrative law attorney I have amassed great experience in dealing with the following California licensing agencies and boards – most of which are located here in Sacramento, California:
- The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- The CA Board of Registered Nursing
- The CA Board of Vocational Nursing
- The CA Department of Social Services
- The CA Board of Behavioral Sciences
- The CA Department of Insurance
- The CA Department of Real Estate
- The CA Court Reporters Board
- The CA Board of Psychology
- The CA Chiropractors Board
- The CA Dental Board
- The CA Board of Pharmacy
- The CA Medical Board
- The CA Veterinary Board
- The CA Department of Consumer Affairs
- The State Bar of CA
Since 1998 I have represented professionals and aspiring professionals in every stage of the administrative law/professional licensing law process.
This includes assisting licensees and prospective licensees in filling out the moral character portions of their licensing applications. As part of that process I have helped clients apply for and receive the expungement and/or set aside or dismissal of prior criminal convictions as well as the sealing and destruction of arrest records. As a Sacramento administrative law attorney I have also worked with clients during that application process in helping them formulate a personal statement regarding the circumstances regarding a prior criminal conviction or incident, amass character support letters, and accumulate court and law enforcement-related documents requested by the licensing agency or board.
This also includes representing licensees and license applicants in requesting administrative hearings and responding to Accusations and/or a Statement of Issues received from the licensing agency or board. I have also represented dozens of licensees across California in administrative hearings held at the Office of Administrative Hearings in San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland and Sacramento.
Finally, as a Sacramento administrative law attorney I have experience in handling professional licensing/administrative law appeals including reconsideration petitions and writs of administrative mandamus (writs of mandate).
I believe it is fair to say that I am among the most experienced professional licensing/administrative law attorneys in the entire State of California. And nothing gives me greater pleasure than utilizing that experience and knowledge of the licensing process to assist individuals whose professional ambitions are at risk due to an investigation by a California licensing board or agency.
